====== Communication Ports and Network Load ====== ---- ===== Communication Ports ===== ---- **Xcalibur W** generally operates under two scenarios: a local LAN environment and a routed WAN environment. **Xcalibur W** can and will operate successfully on port 443 but in order for **Xcalibur W** to operate to its full extent, several additional ports must be opened: ^ ^ ^ | |Pulse over **LAN & WAN** |TCP 80 / 443 |Client **=>** Server | |Discovery over **LAN only** |TCP 9999 | Client **<=** Server | |Pulse synchronization (**LAN only) ** | TCP 7270 |Client **<=** Server | |Remote Assistance (Reverse VNC) |TCP 5900~19\\ TCP 5980~99 |Web Console **=>** Server\\ Client **=>** Server| |Software Distribution (Peer-to-Peer) |TCP 7272 |Client **<=** **=>** Client | |{{:tip.png |}} These are the default ports used when **Xcalibur W** is installed. If necessary, these ports can be modified in the Agent Configuration, Manager Options, and Discovery Options screens.|**\\ ** ===== Network Load ===== ---- As software provider, guessing the network load is a difficult exercice as far as it is tightly linked to your specific usage of the software. However, for guidance purpose, we provide below the network consumption for the agent communication to the server. * **Pulse to the server : 1 kB** ''with no task received by the agent'' * **Pulse to the server : 3 kB** ''with one task received by the agent'' * **Agent Inventory: 250 kB** ''may differ from one device to another based on its hardware and software configuration'' Please note that the [[manager_options:settings#pulse_agent_s_interval_checkin_to_server|Pulse Delay]] and the [[manager_options:settings#automatic_inventory_settings|Inventory Frequency]] can be configured so that it remains acceptable for your environment.
